Lots of breakdowns, but lots of fun!
My new friend Marcus Johns organized a bike race in the San Gabriel Mountains, which is part of the Los Angeles National Forest in California. The criteria for the event was to take a normal bicycle and put a $90 motor on it and race them up Route 2. The start of the race was at Newcombs Ranch which is a really great place to stop for a bite if you're in the area.
As with most things in life, we get what we pay for. These bike motor kits were no exception! We all experienced issues in someway or another, but that didn't stop us from having fun and documenting it along the way! I was happy that I was able to catch up with my longtime friend and my former agent Stevie Hendrix. Also seeing new friends Gabe Rubiano and Blaine Fuhs was a great treat. Meeting John Volk is now one less thing on my bucket list! Aaron Jackson, Dane Gerwig and Leif Carlson were all very friendly and I enjoyed getting to know them throughout the day.
